Are
reservations required?
Reservations
are not required for most cruises but are highly recommended.
(Some special cruises may require advance payment) Space aboard the vessel is limited.
Passengers without reservations are boarded on a
first come first boarded basis as space permits.
How
many does the boat carry?
The legal capacity of the Huron Lady II
is 120 including crew.
We usually (but not always) limit reservations to
somewhat less than capacity.
How
soon should we make reservations?
We
generally accept reservations for sightseeing cruises
anytime up to the sailing date.
Private charter and group reservations are taken
anytime. Private
charter cruises may be scheduled anytime
Can
we reserve a seat?
Seating aboard the boat is general admission. Every seat
aboard is a good seat due to our panoramic windows and open
top deck. Individual specific seating requests are not
usually granted. Please notify us of any special needs for
disabled access.
When
can we board?
Boarding
begins approximately 20 minutes prior to departure.
Arrangements may be made to board slightly earlier if you
require special assistance.
Do
we pay in advance?
Tickets
are generally purchased just prior to boarding.
When we take a reservation we simply place your name
on the list for a particular cruise.
Can
we pay by credit card?
We are not set up to accept credit
cards at the dock. Cash,
personal or company checks, or travelers checks are
acceptable as payment.
Where
do we buy tickets?
Tickets
are purchased at the dock prior to boarding.
Boarding begins approximately 20 minutes prior to
sailing.

What
if we decide not to go?
If you decide to cancel your reservations, we ask
that you let us know as soon as possible so that we may make
your reservation available to someone else.
Where
should we park?
We
do not have our own parking facilities.
Parking is in any municipal lot.
Weekend, holiday, and evening parking is available at
the LaSalle Bank parking lot.
We ask that customers not use this lot during business hours.

Are
the cruises narrated?
Yes.
There is a live narration by the captain describing
the sights and history along our route.
Where
does the cruise go?
We
cruise the upper St. Clair River and lower Lake Huron.
Sunday’s 1pm 3-hour tour cruises to the city of St. Clair and
return without going under the bridges.
How
should we dress?
We recommend that you dress for the weather.
Shirts & shoes are required.
Flat soft-soled shoes are recommended for safe
footing on deck.
Are
there restrooms aboard?
There
are two restrooms aboard.
Unfortunately they are not wheelchair accessible.
Is
the boat handicapped accessible?
We
are able to accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs.
Coast Guard regulations require raised coamings at
all the doorways, so there are some obstructions for
wheelchairs. The
restrooms are not wheel chair accessible.
It is helpful to call ahead if you need special
assistance.
May
we bring food aboard?
No food or
beverages may be brought aboard.
Is
there food for sale aboard?
We
sell a variety of sight snacks including hot dogs, chips,
and candy bars.
Are
there drinks available on the boat?
Yes,
we sell a variety of soft drinks as well as coffee, tea, and
hot chocolate. Beer
and wine are also available for adults. Please
remember we are a family operation, so appropriate behavior
is expected.
Is
smoking allowed aboard boat?
By popular demand, smoking will not be allowed anywhere
aboard the vessel during public sightseeing tours.
Smoking will continue to be allowed during privately
chartered cruises on outside decks.
What
happens if it rains?
We
usually sail rain or shine. The Huron Lady II has a
covered top deck and a climate-controlled cabin capable of
seating up to 60. Sightseeing passengers may decide to
cancel or reschedule. We would appreciate knowing your
decision as soon as possible.
Privately charted cruises are only cancelled if the
Captain decides that weather conditions are unsafe.
Do
we have dinner cruises?
We offer a variety of cruises featuring entertainment and
light hors d'oeuvres. See our

Are
children welcome?
Children
of all ages are welcome aboard the Huron Lady II on
most cruises.
For safety, we require that they be supervised at all
times. Lifejackets
are available and recommended for small children.
Must
children wear a life jacket?
Children
accompanied and supervised by their parents are not required
to wear a lifejacket. We
do recommend that children wear a lifejacket and we are
happy to provide them to children or adults that request
one.
Are
there life jackets for everyone?
There
are life jackets for everyone aboard and are located throughout the
vessel. The
captain will make an announcement prior to getting underway
explaining where they are as well as other safety
information.
Will
I get seasick?
That’s
hard for us to say. Our
route is generally calm.
We sometimes encounter waves created by other vessels
that cause the boat to roll.
If you are susceptible to seasickness, we recommend
you follow the label directions of any medications.
